How can I help you? Here’s a short biography:
I studied design and worked in advertising before discovering the emerging web. The web was the perfect combination of design and technology — two of my passions. I went all in and learnt HTML and hacked away at Flash — when flash was how you made interactive websites. We pushed the boundaries and we had a lot of fun.
Together with Ryan Carson, I co-founded By Designers for Designers (BD4D) in London in the early 2000’s to bring world-renowned designers together to showcase ground-breaking work. BD4D was the first grassroots non-conference digital design get together. Events were held in studios, art galleries and pubs in major hubs including, London, Paris, Tel Aviv, NYC, San Francisco, Atlanta, Toronto and Sydney.
During this time, I worked as an independent designer contracting for top digital agencies in London before starting Mutado London, a studio focused on design for startups.
In 2009 I founded Noble Union, around the same time Apple was starting the app revolution.
Noble Union was born to set the industry standard for app design, with all of our energy focused on creating the very finest user experiences and interfaces. Our apps hit the top of the charts in various categories, featured in the top 10 grossing apps in the UK, and were selected as Apple Staff Favourites. My greatest joy at Noble Union was producing apps that made a contribution, that delighted and engaged both client and user. I feel honoured to have worked with some of the most forward thinking and innovative people in the industry and am grateful to every client that put their faith in our tight knit team.
While at Noble Union, we self published an app called Jump, a London Bus Tracking App. Jump has won multiple design awards for its unique, gesture driven design.
In 2017 I took a sabbatical from Noble Union and moved to Australia where I am currently helping a non-profit by elevating design across the breadth of the global organisation.
At the end of 2019 I began taking on new projects. Drop me a line — let’s collaborate.
I believe that the future is bright and that the best is yet to come.
